I reckon I'm a wreck and you're the victim One second I'm a hit, next I'm missing I'm checking the box for my condition I'm letting you in to have a listen I'm losing a chance to win I'm choosing to pack it in Excuse me while I fall again To my knees I want to follow you, why do I make that so hard I want to follow you, make a home in my heart I want to follow you, I've got some things to let go I want to follow you, make my heart your home I believe I won't be leaving on a full flight I'm relieved I don't relive every dull night This ceiling leaves a feeling that just floors me I'm reeling, then you reel me back to core things

Blue skies to chase my blues away Sunshine to trace the world you made And I can't thank you enough Outside 'neath a shady tree I realize what you've done for me And it's more than all we've done Somedays all it takes is a sunny day I'm grateful for each one Thank you for summertime Love that warm sunshine Full moon feels a bit empty now But I can't let it get me down As I see your heavenly stars Swimming out in Lake Michigan It's not frozen but I wish again That I could freeze this summer in time Fall will follow when summer hollows But God's creation springs to life Thanks for summertime Love that warm sunshine

Trouble comes when I don't need it to Just like you would expect it to I'm asking for it even when I'm not I felt the guilt but i forgot How can I neglect the single greatest sacrifice of all Without you I'm wondering what to do just like you would expect me to I build the trap then catch myself surprised that I am caught in a lie How easily I neglect you and forget why I'm here Clear out my thoughts so I see the cross What seemed like a loss, but you saved all of us Remind me each day in your own special way of the cross and the clay. We're saved by your grace.

This road’s never seemed so alone. This road’s never seemed so alone. We walked along and hung our heads, can’t believe he’s really dead This road’s never seemed so all alone. Stranger do you mean you haven’t heard? Stranger do you mean you haven’t heard? Three days ago they killed him dead, we hoped that we’d be saved instead Stranger do you mean you haven’t heard? The stranger said “why can’t you understand?” The stranger said “why can’t you understand? Don’t you know that suffering was necessary for this king?” The stranger said “why can’t you understand?” We begged him stay and share a meal with us. We begged him stay and share a meal with us. But when he blessed and broke the bread, before his name could once be said He disappeared, but we knew it was Jesus He rose from the grave, oh he rose. He rose from the grave, oh yes he rose He came to us in our despair, nourishment and love to share He rose from the grave, oh he rose.

He never really spoke about his problems He never showed a sign of slowing down He never even hinted at retiring He never needed help to get around He always had open arms to greet you He always had a story that you'd want to hear He always kept up with all the latest He always kept you wishing he was near So I couldn't believe it when they told me his heart was weak and working poorly because I never met a man with a stronger heart than the one that belonged to my grandfather John Raymond Martin leave your mark for the strong at heart Every Tuesday we'd go out for some tacos and Every time we'd fight over the bill Every night I'd listen to his wisdom and Every day I'd try to be more like him He gave us his smile that could beat a rainbow He gave us his love that saw no end He gave his life to caring for his dear wife He gave us all a glimpse of how to live The day I saw him laying in the casket Is a day I never will forget The saddest day that has passed me in my short life The saddest tears that have fallen on my cheek The last time we talked he offered advice He said to work hard and love your beautiful wife And now each day when I look toward the heavens I know he is looking down at me with a smile.

Looking out at this ocean of clouds below Rising up like islands, the volcanoes I can dream of the places I can go But there's a little piece of heaven outside of my window I'll take in all I can Restore me to what I am A glimpse of what you plan for me Give us your daily bread We feed on the words you said We seek first your kingdom and righteousness Leaving town, no particular place to be Sleep beneath, the magnolias are canopies I love a good drive in the countryside, godspeed With a little piece of heaven floating on the breeze Night lights of Austin from my balcony Stop lights turn flashing, then back to green I'll give my life to this lady beside me A little piece of heaven must have seen my dream Over the ocean of clouds or under the magnolia tree A little piece of heaven is inside me

How do I reach for the stars When my arms don't stretch that far How can I promise the world Without a plan that's word for word I know there's blue skies above the rain clouds and there are good days beyond these here I'll have faith in what I can't see and ask God, please shelter me Why do I walk in the dark When I know you've got the spark How can I teach them some good Though I did not, when I should Why do I ignore the signs Even when they look me in the eyes How do I know where I'm going When I think about where I've been

about

This is a collection of songs we wrote over 10 years or so, sending files back and forth between our studios, with the occasional in-person collaboration.

Matt came up with a concept of bringing together seemingly different material we were writing, to encourage people to remove artificial lines between sacred and secular. Specifically, the concept is to look at life through the perspective of four major elements of Christian worship: Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending.

Gathering - the people of God are gathered from all kinds of situations, guilty, lonely as hell, helpless as a baby, a stranger on the street, a child growing into the world, and everything you can think of

Word - it makes all the difference that our lives are informed by God’s word which is love and grace and mercy for life

Meal - God gives us grace that we can touch and taste in Jesus’ gift of himself, which he says to each of us is truly “for you.” In receiving this gift, we are fed to be love, and we can see the mystical unity that we share with all people

Sending - as we go out into the world each day, we go with new eyes to see what God is doing, we go with a purpose to share God’s love, and we do not go alone.
